Bellows based this print on a drawing he did for Arthur Conan Doyle's short story, "I Saw Him Crucified," published in "Hearst's International Magazine," in October, 1922.

Signed and titled "Crucifixion" in pencil by the artist, and signed by his printer, Bolton Brown

One brown spot in image on proper left arm of woman (Mary Magdalene?)) to the right of Jesus' cross.
